Search · Shopping · Performance Max
Google Ads management built on clear measurement and commercial logic.
We design and manage Google Ads campaigns for services and eCommerce, connecting search intent, conversion tracking, landing pages, product feeds and real business evidence.
Campaign type follows demand
We do not start with the format. We start with the customer decision.
Each campaign type solves a different problem. We select only what the offer, data, assets and available budget can support.
Existing intent
Keywords, search terms, match types, negatives, geography and landing pages are organised around defined needs rather than a long keyword list.
Product and catalogue
Shopping and Performance Max use dependable product data, conversion values, assets and product groups—not merely an approved feed.
Discovery and return
Video, Demand Gen and remarketing are used when there is suitable creative, audience, consent and a realistic role within the funnel.
Readiness before spend
Before budget increases, we need to know what it is actually buying.
A campaign can generate clicks while hiding poor leads, duplicate conversions or orders with no useful margin. That is why we check the foundation first.
- 01
A defined commercial goal
We decide whether the campaign must generate sales, qualified leads, phone calls, enquiries or visits to a specific location.
- 02
Reliable measurement
Primary and secondary conversions, consent, calls, purchases and offline quality need correct tracking before they guide bidding.
- 03
An offer that can compete
Price, margin, availability, geography, fulfilment time and competition determine what the budget can realistically support.
- 04
A coherent landing page
The promise made in the ad should continue on a fast, relevant page with a clear next action.
- 05
A sufficient learning window
Budget and duration should allow evidence to accumulate without reacting to every individual click.
- 06
Operational readiness
The team should respond to leads, manage stock and return quality information to the campaign.
Account foundation
Six layers that make an account manageable and auditable.
Performance depends on more than bids and keywords. It needs ownership, measurement, consent, structure, dependable data and a coherent post-click experience.
Account ownership
The account, billing, Merchant Center, audiences and historical data remain under the ownership of the business.
Conversion architecture
We separate primary from secondary actions and review duplicates, values, calls, forms, purchases and offline outcomes.
Consent & tagging
CMP, Consent Mode, Google tag, GTM and GA4 are organised as one documented system with known limitations.
Campaign structure
Search intent, locations, products, brands, exclusions, negatives and creative assets follow a clear logic.
Product data
For eCommerce we review feeds, identifiers, prices, availability, categories, destinations and Merchant Center diagnostics.
Landing experience
Message match, mobile UX, speed, forms, calls, checkout and trust signals are assessed alongside the campaign.
Conversion architecture
Bidding needs the right signals, not more green numbers.
We review tags, event duplication, attribution, values, call tracking, forms and purchases. A page view, a phone-link click and a completed order do not have equal commercial meaning.
Where appropriate, we import offline information about qualified or won leads so evaluation does not end when a form is submitted.
Merchant Center & product data
In eCommerce, the campaign begins with catalogue quality.
We organise Merchant Center and data sources, review titles, identifiers, prices, availability, categories, images and landing destinations, and monitor diagnostics. Product groups and conversion values follow commercial priorities, not click volume alone.
The work continues after the click
The ad and the landing page should make the same promise.
We assess message match, mobile experience, speed, form or checkout, trust signals and the next action. If the page does not support the decision, we do not hide the problem by increasing bids.
Audit, build, learn
Four stages without premature “optimization”.
We document what changes, why it changes and which evidence will show whether the decision was sound.
- 01
Audit & commercial brief
We review accounts, history, goals, economics, audiences, tracking, feeds, landing pages and operational constraints.
- 02
Measurement & architecture
We repair conversions and consent, then agree the campaign map, budgets, exclusions and evaluation method.
- 03
Build, QA & launch
We implement Search, Shopping, Performance Max or another appropriate structure and test assets, URLs, tags and real actions.
- 04
Learning & optimization
We assess search terms, products, audiences, bids, creative and lead or order quality before changing direction.
Business-aware reporting
We do not present impressions and clicks as the final outcome.
Reporting connects cost, qualified conversions, conversion value and commercial quality. For leads we examine validity and outcome; for eCommerce we consider cancellations, returns, margin signals and availability where the data exists.
Clear commercial boundaries
Your account and data remain yours.
The proposal separates media spend, management fee, creative, landing-page work, tools and third-party services. No campaign is presented as a guarantee of revenue or a fixed CPL.
01We do not guarantee sales, ROAS, ad position or a specific cost per lead.
02The business retains ownership, billing access, exports and historical data.
03Material changes to budgets, goals or markets are agreed before implementation.
04Outcomes are assessed against the agreed learning window and real commercial quality.
Start with evidence
Before increasing budget, check what the account is measuring.
Share the goal, account, landing pages, priority products or services and how a real sale or qualified lead is evaluated.
Request a Google Ads auditFAQ
Google Ads without easy promises.
The essential answers before commissioning a new account or the management of existing campaigns.
Have another question? What is included in Google Ads management?
It can include an audit or initial setup, account strategy, conversion tracking, campaigns, keywords or product groups, negatives, assets, monitoring, optimization and reporting under the agreed scope.
Which campaign type do I need?
It depends on the goal, demand, product, data, assets and budget. Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Display, Demand Gen or video are not mandatory for every business.
Can you take over an existing Google Ads account?
Yes. We start with read-only or controlled access and audit history, conversions, structure, search terms, feeds and change history before proposing a rebuild.
Does the account need to belong to Firstidea?
No. The primary account, billing and data should belong to the business. Firstidea receives the appropriate access level for the engagement.
How much media budget is required?
There is no universal minimum. It depends on market, geography, CPC, conversion rate, target economics and learning window. Media spend remains separate from the management fee.
Do you guarantee sales, ROAS or a fixed cost per lead?
No. Outcomes depend on the market, competition, offer, website, budget, data and operations. We commit to sound structure, transparent measurement, disciplined tests and evidence-based decisions.
What is a primary versus secondary conversion?
A primary action is used for main evaluation and, where selected, bidding. A secondary action is observational or supporting. The distinction prevents small interactions from being reported as equal to meaningful outcomes.
Do I need GA4 and Google Tag Manager?
They are not the only possible combination, but they often support management and analysis. We select Google tag, GTM, GA4 and server or offline integrations according to the actual measurement plan.
How does consent affect campaigns?
The user’s choice affects which data can be collected and used. Consent Mode communicates signals to Google tags, but it does not replace the CMP, privacy policy or legal assessment.
What does an eCommerce store need for Shopping or Performance Max?
It needs a correctly configured Merchant Center, current product data, prices and availability that match the site, clean landing pages, conversion tracking and a process for diagnostics or disapprovals.
Can SEO and Google Ads work together?
Yes. Search terms, landing-page behaviour and conversion evidence can inform priorities while SEO builds organic coverage. They remain separate channels with different costs and time horizons.
What do you need for an initial assessment?
We need goals, markets, priority products or services, margins or lead value, accounts, analytics, consent setup, landing pages, previous campaigns and an explanation of how a real sale or qualified lead is evaluated.
