Logo design / responsive identity
Professional logo design that remains recognisable at every scale.
We create professional logos with strategic thinking, a distinctive character and practical usefulness—from favicons and social avatars to signage, packaging and websites.
What makes a logo effective?
It does not need to explain everything. It needs to be recognised, appropriate and applied correctly.
A logo works when it distils the character of a business into a distinctive visual mark without depending on effects or a single application. It should read quickly, stand apart from competitors and remain clear from a 16-pixel screen icon to large-format signage.
Do you need a complete corporate identity? ↗︎A logo system, not one isolated file
The deliverables cover real conditions of use.
The final package is defined in the proposal and adapted to the applications the business genuinely needs.
Primary logo
The main brand signature, designed to communicate the business name and character with clarity.
Alternative lockups
Horizontal, vertical or compact compositions for spaces where the primary version is not practical.
Responsive mark
A simplified mark or monogram for favicons, social avatars, app icons and very small digital applications.
Colour variants
Full-colour, monochrome, reversed and grayscale versions for light, dark and restricted environments.
Organised files
Vector and raster exports for digital and print, clearly named and separated by intended use.
Core usage rules
Colour references, clear space, minimum size and examples that protect consistent application.
Responsive logo system
The same brand does not need to wear exactly the same lockup everywhere.
A full wordmark often cannot remain clear in a favicon, social avatar or app icon. We design a controlled family of variants so the brand stays recognisable without sacrificing clarity.
- Full signature for primary applications
- Compact lockup for constrained spaces
- Mark or monogram for small scales
- Monochrome and reversed variants
From brief to final mark
Every design decision has a reason, and every stage has a defined output.
The process reduces subjective choices, organises feedback and keeps the project focused on the real brand.
- 01
Discovery & brief
We document audiences, market, competitors, differentiation, applications and constraints before opening a design file.
- 02
Creative routes
We present distinct creative directions with a rationale and relevant context—not random variations of the same symbol.
- 03
Refinement
The selected route develops through agreed feedback rounds, with close attention to typography, proportions and detail.
- 04
Stress testing
We test the mark at small and large scales, on light and dark backgrounds and across the brand’s real touchpoints.
- 05
Handoff
We deliver approved variants, organised files, core rules and the agreed terms covering use and ownership.
New logo or redesign?
We do not replace a recognised mark without a business reason.
We identify the problem first, then choose the appropriate depth of change.
A new logo from first principles
For a new company, product or service that needs a distinctive presence and a practical first visual system.
- Positioning and audience
- Competitive context
- New creative direction
Evolution of an existing logo
For a recognised brand with weak application, an outdated form or inconsistency across digital and physical touchpoints.
- What deserves to remain
- Where the current mark fails
- How far the change should go
Logos in real applications
A mark proves its value when it moves from concept to everyday use.
Different industries, different characters and the same requirement for a clear, recognisable application.

Mastersol
A technical character and a clear energy mark for product, communication and eCommerce.

Elian Estates
A minimal mark and understated luxury for a boutique real-estate presence.

Lupulus
A friendly, narrative character for a children’s bookstore with a distinctive personality.

A good logo should be usable without its designer standing beside it.
We organise variants, formats and core rules so the team, printer or next partner knows which file belongs where. Exact deliverables, licences and ownership terms are agreed in writing.

Frequently asked questions about logo design.
A sound brief clarifies scope, variants, feedback, files and ownership before creative work begins.
What does a professional logo-design project include?
The exact scope is agreed before work begins. It commonly includes a brief and research, creative routes, refinement of the selected direction, primary and alternative lockups, colour variants, digital and print files and core usage guidance.
What is the difference between a logo and a corporate identity?
A logo is the central identifying mark. Corporate identity is the wider system combining logo, colour, typography, graphics, image direction, tone and applications. If you need the complete system, we treat it as a different project scope.
Do you redesign existing logos?
Yes. We first identify what already carries recognition and should be retained. A redesign may be a careful evolution, a simplification or a complete rebrand, depending on the problem that needs to be solved.
How many logo concepts will I see?
The number of creative routes and feedback rounds is defined in the proposal. We favour a small number of meaningfully different, well-reasoned directions over a large volume of superficial options.
Can you copy a logo I like?
Visual references help us understand preferences and context, but we do not copy another designer’s work. The goal is a distinctive result that belongs to your business and can be used responsibly.
Do you check whether the logo is available as a trademark?
We can carry out a basic visual and online review for obvious conflicts, but this is not legal clearance or trademark registration. Formal searches and registration require an appropriate legal or trademark professional.
Which file formats are delivered?
Required formats are defined in the scope and usually include vector files for scaling and production plus raster exports for websites, social media and everyday use. Files are organised and clearly named.
Will the logo work as a favicon and social avatar?
That is a core test for a modern logo system. When the full signature cannot remain clear at a small scale, we design a responsive mark or monogram instead of simply shrinking the complete logo.
Are business cards, packaging or social templates included?
Not automatically. They can be added as specific applications or included within a wider corporate-identity project. Deliverables are listed before work begins so the boundary is clear.
Who owns the final logo and files?
Ownership, usage and delivery terms are agreed in writing in the proposal. Once the project is completed and paid, the agreed final files and relevant licence information for fonts or third-party assets are handed over.
How long does a logo project take?
Timing depends on the quality of the brief, decision-maker availability, the number of applications and the speed of feedback. Following discovery, we define stages and a realistic schedule.
Can Firstidea apply the new logo to the website?
Yes. Because we also design and develop websites, eCommerce and digital products, we can translate the logo system into UI, landing pages, social content and selected digital applications without losing consistency.
